Tony Clarke is the executive director of the Polaris Institute, which assists civil society organizations, both in Canada and internationally, to develop new capacities and tools for democratic social change in an age of corporate globalization. He is also the author of two books, “Blue Gold” which he co-authored with Maude Barlow and “Inside the Bottle: An Expose of the Bottled Water Industry.” In this keynote address – delivered with passion and eloquence – he touches upon such subjects as international water privatization tactics, the detrimental environmental effects and the efforts of international citizens groups that are dedicated to resisting corporate takeover and control of public water.
