This is an aeoliphone (wind sound effects percussion instrument) with a new twist. We used two half-width strips of fabric: one strip of duck cloth (canvas) and one strip of nylon. The result is a very cool two-tone effect while both types of fabric are used. The aeoliphone can be played with just the canvas for a deeper, darker tone, or with just the nylon for a higher, more wispy tone. A lot of other sound effects can be created by holding different sorts of objects against the wood slats in place of the fabric.
