The Day Of Giving

This one was made in June of '08 as part of the 48 Hour Film Project. For those unfamiliar with the project, here is how it works:

Each team is given 48 Hours to write, shoot, edit, score, and output a short film. The catch is that you have to use "elements" that are given at random in your film. Each group is given the same character, line of dialogue, and prop. Then the teams are required to draw a genre from a hat. Here is how ours broke down:

Character: Scott or Scarlet Johnston, Storyteller
Line of Dialogue: "I was thinking the same thing."
Prop: Earrings
Genre: Holiday Film

We spent an exceptionally long time writing and planning the production, leaving ourselves about an hour to shoot with daylight on Saturday. Despite torrential rain, blazing heat, and ticks we finished the shoot and completed the edit on minimal sleep. We arrived just on time and ended up winning awards for Best Editing and Best Special Effects (awesome spaceship model built by Michelle Lawless).

We hope that you enjoy it. Thanks for watching!
